Our successful charity will writing campaign has helped to fund the upgrade of three air ambulance sites in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
Wills and Legal Services’ popular scheme has now raised more than £1 million for the County Air Ambulance Trust HELP Appeal – the only charity in the country dedicated to funding hospital and air ambulance helipads.
The national paralegal law firm writes your Will for a recommended donation of £40 to the appeal, which has just donated £69,000 to the upgrade of helipad lights at the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance airbase at RAF Waddington, Fenland Airfield in South Lincolnshire, and Nottingham Airport (Tollerton).
The installation of the new lights will be invaluable for the helicopter crews who regularly use these landing sites when responding to some of the most critically ill and seriously injured patients across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
The state-of-the-art landing lights will make each helipad site significantly clearer during times of low visibility and landing at night – vital in the air ambulance’s move to 24/7 operations this month.
Sarah Watson, director at Wills & Legal Services, said: “We’re delighted to have helped raise vital funds that helped to pay for these facilities.”
Llewis Ingamells, chief pilot at Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, said: “Having these new modern night landing aids not only gives us lit landing sites for aircraft refuelling during the hours of darkness at targeted locations, but it provides us with lit diversion destinations for weather or planning around one of the largest response areas; 3,500 square miles, covered by any single Air Ambulance in the UK.”
To date, Wills and Legal Services’ charity will writing campaign has raised £975,675.25 for HELP Appeal projects.
